The Healthy Hungry-Free Kids Act of 2010

Healthy Eating. Healthy Living.

The Healthy Hungry-Free Kids Act of 2010 establishes that each student is entitled to healthy meal options while at school. Under this act, school districts are required to provide students with set portions of fruits and vegetables per meal.

Our Fresh Snacks take the legwork out of the equation! For example, the act refers to the correct serving sizes as ½ cup and 1cup portions – which can be difficult to decipher.

The Fresh Snacks pouches provide our customers with portions of fruit and vegetables that meet all specifications of the Healthy Hungry-Free Kids Act of 2010. Each individual pack is a pre-portioned and sealed package – making it simple to provide any student with the required daily consumption of fruits and vegetables.

For instance, individual pouches can be easily served to grades K-8 in order to meet the ½ cup requirements or two pouches of the same or different commodity can be easily served to grades 9-12 to meet the 1 cup requirements.
